Farming Livelihood in Vietnam: Interview 1

During my farm stay, I was able to conduct an interview with Bà, the farmer I stayed with. We talked about various topics, most of it about her life and work. I cannot provide the interview audio to protect Bà's identity. Instead, below I have attached two PDFs of the interview transcription, the first in Vietnamese, and the second in English. The Vietnamese version is a true verbatim transcription (every word and non-verbal communication is transcribed) and the English version is an attempt at a true verbatim transcription as well -- being fluent in both Vietnamese and English, I attempted to capture the emotions Ba shared, with an English-speaking audience. The transcripts are very long, so I've highlighted bits of conversation I considered most insightful.

One last thing: I'd recommend you read the creative piece first to get a sense of who Bà is -- hopefully you'll see what a beautiful, resilient, and delightful person she is.
